Privacy Notice

Who I am

I am Sascha Mullen, a parish councillor in Dummer. This privacy notice explains how I collect and use personal information when you visit this website, contact me or ask for help with a local issue. I am the data controller for personal information I handle in my individual councillor role. Information handled separately by Dummer Parish Council or another organisation is covered by that organisation’s own privacy notice. For questions about your information, or to exercise your data protection rights, please email sascha@saschamullen.uk.

Information I collect

When you contact me, I may collect your name, contact details and information about your enquiry. This may include correspondence, supporting documents and information you choose to share about your circumstances. If I contact another organisation to help with your enquiry, I may receive relevant information from that organisation. Please only provide information relevant to your enquiry. My councillor role is separate from my work as an NHS nurse. You do not need to share medical information unless it is relevant to the matter you are asking me to help with. The website also uses cookies, as explained below.

How I use your information

I use your information to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and understand your concerns.

  • Help with local issues and raise relevant matters with appropriate organisations.

  • Keep you informed about progress and maintain records of the assistance provided.

My lawful basis

My lawful basis for handling personal information for resident enquiries and councillor casework is Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR, known as legitimate interests. My legitimate interest is responding to residents’ concerns, helping with local issues and representing their interests. I only use personal information where it is necessary for these purposes and where the individual’s interests, rights and freedoms do not override that interest. You have the right to object to this use of your information. Where I rely on explicit consent, I will explain what information I need, why I need it and any proposed sharing, and obtain your explicit consent before proceeding. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing sascha@saschamullen.uk. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of information use before consent was withdrawn, but it may limit the assistance I can provide.

Sharing your information

Where necessary to help with your enquiry, I may share relevant information with Dummer Parish Council, the local authority or relevant service providers. I only share information needed for that purpose. Before sharing, I will explain who needs the information and why. Where I rely on your consent, I will ask for it explicitly. I may also share information where required by law. Please tell me if you have concerns about information being shared. This may affect the assistance I can provide. Website and email providers may also process personal information to deliver their services, as explained below.

Keeping and protecting your information

I keep enquiry records while your enquiry is active and for as long afterwards as necessary to complete any follow-up, deal with a related complaint or meet a legal obligation. I review records when an enquiry closes and periodically afterwards. Information that is no longer needed is securely deleted. Any paper records are shredded or disposed of through a confidential waste service. I protect personal information through password-protected accounts and devices, restricted access to enquiry records and secure storage of paper documents. Access is limited to people who need the information to help with your enquiry.

Website and email providers

This website is provided through Wix. I use Gmail to manage email correspondence.

These providers process relevant personal information to deliver their services. Wix provides the website, and Google provides Gmail for my email correspondence. Enquiries sent to my email address are stored in my Gmail account.

  • Access your personal information.

  • Have inaccurate information corrected.

  • Request deletion of your information.

  • Restrict how your information is used.

  • Object to its use.
